Tower Open Day

Cherry Hinton Bellringers hosted a Tower Open Day on Saturday 7th October to help to raise funds for the Church Tower Appeal.

A great deal of the fun was had during the afternoon with a working mobile bell model belonging to the Ely Diocese being set up in the churchyard to demonstrate the mechanics of ringing a bell

A video link was set up in the Tower and connected to a television in the ringing chamber to provide visitors with a view of the bells are they were being rung. We gave regular demonstrations to the on-lookers.

A chocolate tombola added to the flavour of the afternoon and certainly kept both children and adults occupied as they tried to win the star prize - 'a chocolate Lindt Bell'. Tea and cakes were kindly provided by ladies from the congregation as welcome refreshment!

A big thank you to the bellringers and families who helped to make the afternoon a success, and to all the visitor who support the event and Tower Appeal.

Money raised: £144.50
