Like most churches these days, we have a tower appeal. For once, however, this isn't a tower appeal for the bells! Instead, it's the actual tower that needs a bit of attention. St Andrews, Cherry Hinton, was built circa 1200, with the last work being done on the tower in the reign of Henry VII. Unsurprisingly, the tower is in some urgent need of repair. The total cost of making these safe and doing some work to the North side of the tower comes to a wopping £160,000. Whilst a fair portion of this has been raised through various grants, there is still a long, long way to go. Please click the link below to take you to the Cherry Hinton website and follow the link to the tower appeal. Your help would be very much appreciated. |
